3D Digital Imaging – El Reno, OK

Next-Level Diagnostic Excellence

Every successful dental treatment starts with a plan, and that’s especially true when it comes to more complicated procedures like dental implant placement. When we need to gather as much information about a patient’s dental anatomy as possible, we use our 3D cone beam scanner. This is the absolute top of the mountain when it comes to dental diagnostic technology, allowing us to perform a wide array of treatments more precisely, more safely, and more efficiently than ever.

How Does 3D Cone Beam Imaging Work?

Patient receiving 3 D cone beam scans

Essentially, 3D cone beam imaging allows us to take a very sophisticated X-ray that allows us to see all of a patient’s teeth and the jawbones in a single, cohesive image. Rather than being flat, the image is a fully interactive model. In addition to showing us how the teeth are oriented in relation to one another, we can also determine the thickness of the jawbone and see the location of sensitive facial nerves. This enables us to form a treatment plan that is especially suited to each patient.

These days, 3D cone beam imaging is an essential step when planning a dental implant procedure. It enables us to determine the perfect locations for a patient’s new teeth, where the bone is thickest and most stable. We can also determine, down to the millimeter, how deep an implant should be placed to provide maximum stability. This precision allows us to make the procedure less invasive as well, which helps dramatically shorten the recovery time.
